Tony Danza and his four-piece band mark their triumphant return to QPAC, with their hit live show, Standards & Stories. Combining timeless music with wit, charm, storytelling, and a dash of soft shoe and ukulele performances, Danza performs a selection of his favorite standards from the Great American Songbook while interweaving stories about his life and personal connection to the music.

Danza has been one of the world’s most beloved and iconic entertainers for over 40 years and he has done it all!  Perhaps best known for his starring roles on two of television’s most cherished and long-running series, Taxi and Who’s The Boss, Tony also received an Emmy nomination for his work on The Practice. He can be seen in the hit films, Angels In The Outfield, She’s Out of Control, Hollywood Knights, and Don Jon. Well established as a song and dance man, Tony has also starred on Broadway in The Producers, A View from the Bridge, and most recently received rave reviews for his performance in the Broadway musical comedy, Honeymoon In Vegas.

Queensborough Performing Arts Center is thrilled to have this extraordinary performer back where he belongs – centerstage and in front of a wonderful New York audience! Join us for Tony Danza - Standards & Stories, the hit live show that has entertained audiences around the country with The New York Times raving “Tony’s a live wire who tap-dances, plays the ukulele, tells stories and radiates irresistible charm… He exudes the kind of charisma that can’t be taught!”

SEUSSICAL - Theatre for Young Audiences

Now one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical (Theatre for Young Audiences) is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Sunrise Theater Company and Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime) have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.  The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many "thinks." Horton faces a double challenge – not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphantly.

Join us as QPAC delivers a magical, musical Saturday morning for the whole family to enjoy!
